Making dedications in a person’s honor or memory
to Shaare Tefila’s funds is a mitzvah.

Giving is easy to do and is a wonderful way to celebrate a family milestone, honor joyous occasions, recognize deserving individuals and remember your loved ones. You can commemorate many events in your life through tzedakah, including births, birthdays, b’nai mitzvot, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, yahrzeits and acts of kindness. The following links provide the information on how to make a contribution.

Shaare Tefila’s Capital Campaign
Ways of Giving
Donors may support Shaare Tefila’s Capital Campaign in the following ways:
Outright gifts of cash - provide immediate support for the Capital Campaign. Donors can deduct gifts on federal tax returns up to 50% of the donor’s adjusted gross income.
Stocks and securities - a donor can deduct the fair market value of securities. In general, donors who give appreciated securities can deduct the full fair market value, thereby avoiding the tax on capital gain. Stock can be transferred electronically or certificates can be delivered or mailed.
Pledges - will be accepted and will be redeemable over three to five years.
Real estate and other personal property - may also be given to Shaare Tefila Congregation.
Planned gifts - are another way to participate in the Campaign. Possible vehicles donors might consider are:

-
Bequests are gifts through an individual’s will that may be for a specific sum, a percentage of the estate or contingent (if other beneficiaries fail to survive the donor).
-
A Charitable Remainder Trust allows for one or more beneficiaries to receive income for life or for a term of years, after which time the trust assets belong to Shaare Tefila Congregation.
-
A Charitable Lead Trust provides income to Shaare Tefila Congregation for a period of years, after which time the assets revert to individuals selected by the donor at a reduced tax cost.
-
Assets of Life Insurance, Retirement Plans and Real Estate can also be used to fund planned gifts. Shaare Tefila Congregation can be named as owner and beneficiary of life insurance or beneficiary of qualified retirement plans.
The Shaare Tefila Funds enhance the Congregation’s permanent endowments. Contributions made to these funds are retained as principal in perpetuity, while the interest is available to further the programs and goals of Shaare Tefila Congregation.
