________
There are many retail stores that carry "Made in Israel" labels. A few stores in our area are The Gap, Brooks Brothers, Bloomingdale’s, Kugler’s House of Linens, A Step Ahead (Bethesda), Nordstrom, Hudson Trail Outfitters, and The Sports Authority. There are many others. Question the sales people if they carry the item you may be looking for with one that is "Made in Israel." If they hear it often enough, the buyers will begin to pay attention.
Look for items such as Gottex, Gideon Oberson swimwear, Sara’s Prints Pajamas for Kids, Rummikub game, Tal Toys for babies, Dead Sea Salts and Cosmetics items, Kitan’s cotton flannel sheets, soaps by Neca. For a more complete list, request same from the ISRAEL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE.

THE FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF LINK PROVIDERS/WEB SITES WHERE ITEMS CAN BE PURCHASED DIRECTLY FROM ISRAEL ONLINE. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE LINKS/SITES WHERE VALUABLE INFORMATION IS GIVEN ON HOW YOU CAN BE OF HELP TO OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN ISRAEL.
1) http://www.whiteplainsforisrael.org An outstanding link provider, containing a large (over 800 and growing) database/website, listing Israeli websites in 35 categories. It is well laid out and easy to use. One website in particular is for its campaign titled "Donate a Wedding Dress." The White Plains Israel Action Committee is collecting gently used wedding dresses to be sent to Israel for poor brides in Jerusalem. Please read this site and if you can help by sending a used clean wedding gown, it will indeed be a mitzvah.
2) http://www.israelexport.org This site was developed by the Economic Department at the Embassy of Israel. It provides a wide variety of links by category.
3) http://www.allforisrael.com Many categories of Israeli gifts.
4) http://www.israeliwishes.com Food products, books, movies, computer games, and more.
5) http://www.finefoodsisrael.com Excellent lists of products that cover more products than mentioned in our Shaare Tefila Yellow Pages. This website also makes available information on other websites, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, contact people, e-mail, and US importers where available. All of the products mentioned in this site are imported into the United States.
6) http://www.judaicawebstore.com Name brands from Israel; silver, jewelry, talitot, glass, and art.
Above is by no means a complete list of all sites available. It is difficult to select when there are so many wonderful sites. These sites were chosen as a sampling of what is available.

2.) CALL/WRITE THE MEDIA
As soon as you hear a one-sided or inaccurate report, pick up the phone
and call the news organization. It only takes a minute! If it was inaccurate,
explain the error and ask that it be publicly corrected. If it was one-sided,
state that the report was not objective. If you can, provide some details.
· Was the report skewed by the use of terms or language associated with
only one side’s perspective?
· Did the reporter editorialize in what was supposed to be an objective news story?
· Were the opinions of both sides represented?
· Was key information missing?
If you are unable to make a phone call, write a letter. Here are e-mail addressess and/or
phone numbers for major news organizations:

3.) SPREAD THE WORD
Talk with your family and friends about events in the Middle East and
emphasize that much of the media coverage has been distorted, damaging
public understanding of events at this critical time. Give examples to raise
their awareness of the disturbing problem of media bias. Forward alerts to them.
Educate and organize members of your community (youth groups, synagogue
and church social action committees, sisterhood/men’s groups) to call the media
to protest inaccurate and unfair reporting.
4.) TRAVEL on a community solidarity mission to Israel or plan a personal visit to Israel.
5.) COMMUNICATE with Israelis by phone, fax, e-mail, or letter to strengthen
our connection and solidarity.
6.) ATTEND and PARTICIPATE in programs and events in our community
that educate the public about the Middle East as well as the background of the conflict.
7.) SUPPORT Israel financially through groups that provide assistance:
e.g., Israeli Emergency Fund, Hadassah Hospital, and Na’amat.
8.) WRITE personal but polite letters to U.S. elected officials expressing
disappointment that certain things were not done and "thank you’s" when
members of our State’s congressional delegation, (see below) do take
important favorable action on behalf of Israel.
9.) REMAIN informed by reviewing and subscribing
to various information sites such as:
